The wage range listed represents the potential compensation opportunities for this position. Starting salary will be thoughtfully determined by the hiring manager based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, education, relevant skills, and qualifications brought to the role. The initial offer could be any amount within the posted range, reflecting Epsilon's commitment to fair and competitive compensation.
Where you'll work:
You will work onsite in Crystal City, VA initially and then transition to onsite in Manassas, VA within the first year.
An average day:
As Network Administrator III, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the network infrastructures within domestic and international environments and data centers. This role supports a large enterprise effort on a federal contract, focusing on the reliability, security, and performance of network systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, providing advanced technical expertise and guidance to junior administrators while ensuring compliance with federal regulations and best practices. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, providing advanced technical expertise and guidance to junior administrators while ensuring compliance with federal regulations and best practices. Additionally, in this position you will:
- Manage and maintain Cisco-based network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Monitor network performance, identify issues, and implement troubleshooting measures to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.
- Collaborate with IT teams to design and integrate new network solutions that align with business objectives.
- Implement and enforce network security protocols to safeguard sensitive data and comply with federal regulations.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, procedures, and standards.
- Provide mentorship and support to junior network administrators to enhance team capabilities.
- Participate in network capacity planning, expansion projects, and technology upgrades.
- Coordinate with vendors for network equipment procurement and support services.
- Ensure compliance with SLAs and provide regular reports on network performance and incident resolutions.
- Stay current with industry trends and technologies to recommend improvements and innovations.
- Lead planning and coordination of large-scale network deployment projects across multiple locations
- Develop detailed project plans including resource allocation, timeline management, and milestone tracking
- Review proposed network changes to ensure alignment with best practices
- Ensure network designs and implementations comply with federal security standards
- Coordinate with security teams to implement and maintain appropriate network security controls
- As a requirement of this position, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. In accordance with 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(2)(C) , Epsilon will not consider candidates for this position who do not meet the aforementioned conditions.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; equivalent work experience may be considered.
- Must hold a current 8570/8140 IAT Level II Certification (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network administration, with a focus on Cisco technologies.
- Current Cisco certification such as CCNA or CCNP
- Proficient in routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, EIGRP, BGP) and advanced network architecture design.
- Advanced knowledge of VLANs, spanning tree protocol (STP), and network segmentation.
- Experience with network security protocols, including IPSec VPNs, access control lists (ACLs), and 802.1X authentication.
- Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark, DNA).
- Strong understanding of network security measures and experience with firewall technologies (e.g., Cisco FirePower/ASA, Palo Alto).
- Familiarity with VPN solutions and secure remote access technologies.
- Understanding and implementing Quality of Service (QoS) to ensure network performance.
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, AHV) related to network infrastructure.
- Understanding of cloud networking concepts and architectures (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required for federal contracts.
- Must have an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret with SCI eligibility or have an active Top Secret with SCI eligibility. ( This is a federal contract position and requires candidates to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of Security Clearance or Public Trust. Adjudication of the required Security Clearance or Public Trust is determined solely by the government. If the government determines that the candidate cannot obtain and/or maintain the appropriate level of Security Clearance or Public Trust, Epsilon will be unable to place the candidate in this position.)
