Seneca Holdings is seeking a Proposal Writer I in our Chantilly, VA office. In this role, the Proposal Writer r esearch es , writes, edits, and proofreads RFx responses, boilerplate content, and-when required -marketing or technical documentation. The Proposal Writer I is responsible for creating compliant and compelling proposal content in response to federal government solicitations. This role involves working closely with capture managers, business development leads, proposal managers, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), solution architects, and other proposal writers to translate complex technical and management solutions into clear, customer-focused narratives for technical and non-technical audiences . This role reports into our Manager of Proposal Writing

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES :
- Develop compliant proposal content in response to R Fx solicitations based upon proposal outlines, interviews with SMEs, existing content, past performance documents, and independent research.
- Work closely with pro gram managers , SMEs , and other stakeholders to gather and verify information necessary for documentation.
- Participate in partner data calls and consolidate information into cohesive and compelling content.
- Develop a deep understanding of the organization's core competencies for content development.
- Assist Proposal Managers by writing assigned sections, participating in color team reviews, compliance reviews, and meeting all scheduled deadlines.
- Assist in developing content for marketing materials and capability briefings.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, precise, maintains an appropriate tone, and adheres to the company's style standards.
- Edit and format proposal content with attention to detail on grammar and compliance with proposal instructions.
- Review and edit documents for content, style, clarity, and consistency.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret complex information, including instructions and requirements found in government solicitations.
- Skilled in interviewing SMEs and turning complex content into persuasive, complete narratives.
- Proven time management and organizational skills in deadline-driven environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 with emphasis on Word, Excel, PowerPoi nt, Teams, and Outlook.
- Ability to work effectively with others in a team-oriented setting.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
EXPERIENCE R EQUIRED :
- 1-3 years of experience in persuasive writing and editing.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize content effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or other related field.
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED :
- Experience writing for proposals for civilian and/or DoD agencies.
- APMP Foundation certification.
- Background writing content related to IT or cybersecurity.
- Familiarity with Responsive, Grammarly, PerfectIt or similar tools.
