Junior Cloud Analyst

This position requires US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD clearance. Candidates who are not eligible for a DoD clearance are not eligible for hire. This is a remote position, however candidates must live within a reasonable driving distance of Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, MA.
Hiring for this position is contingent upon contract award.

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior Cloud Analyst to join our growing team. This position is ideal for an individual with a foundational understanding of cloud computing concepts and a strong desire to build a career in cloud technologies.

The Junior Cloud Analyst will work closely with senior cloud engineers and architects, assisting with the deployment, management, and optimization of our cloud infrastructure. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with leading cloud platforms and contribute to critical cloud initiatives.
Day in the life:

• Support senior analysts in deploying and configuring cloud resources (e.g., virtual machines, storage buckets, databases) on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Monitor cloud infrastructure performance, resource utilization, and health using cloud-native tools and established monitoring systems. Respond to basic alerts under supervision.
• Perform initial troubleshooting of common cloud-related issues (e.g., connectivity problems, resource allocation errors) and escalate complex problems to senior team
• Assist with managing cloud resources, including instance provisioning/de-provisioning, storage allocation, and network configuration, following established guidelines.
• Gather data on cloud resource usage, costs, and performance metrics. Assist in generating basic reports for analysis.
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, including cloud architecture diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and configuration guides.
• Follow defined processes and procedures for cloud operations, security, and change management.
• Help monitor cloud environments for security vulnerabilities and anomalies.
• Assist with managing user access and permissions within cloud platforms, adhering to security best practices.
• Aid in ensuring cloud deployments comply with relevant security policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements under guidance.
• Learn and assist with basic scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automating routine tasks and improving operational efficiency.
• Begin to understand and work with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) for deploying and managing infrastructure.
• Collaborate effectively with senior cloud analysts, engineers, developers, and other IT team members.
• Develop problem-solving skills by actively participating in troubleshooting and issue resolution.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree with 1 year of experience, Associate degree with 3 years of relevant experience, no degree with 5 years of relevant experience
• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance
• US Citizenship
• Familiarity with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform). This includes understanding their core services (compute, storage, networking) and how they function.
• Ability to utilize data analysis tools and techniques (e.g., SQL, visualization software, statistical analysis) to identify patterns and trends within cloud data.
• Strong aptitude for identifying, analyzing, and resolving technical issues within cloud environments.
• Understanding how to determine client requirements and translate them into cloud solutions.
• Ability to analyze operational activities to derive quantitative insights for decision-making and resource allocation.
• Ability to monitor system performance, identify issues, and perform basic troubleshooting.
• Skill in creating and maintaining documentation related to cloud architecture, configurations, and processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work effectively within a team, collaborating with developers, operations, and other stakeholders.
• A strong desire to continuously learn and adapt to new cloud technologies and trends
• Ability to think critically and strategically to solve complex problems

• Active Secret Clearance

Benefit selection, customer contractual specifications, relevant work experience, skills, competencies, certifications, and clearance status will influence the final salary.

Full benefits: $75,000 to $94,000 annually
Reduced benefits (no medical, dental, vision): Up to $102,000 annually
