This position requires an Active Secret Clearance.Candidates who do not hold this clearance are not eligible for hire. . This is a remote position, however candidates must live within a reasonable driving distance of Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, MA.

Day in the life:

• Services performed include, but are not limited to, applying management analysis processes, statistical methods, and advanced technical and analytical research techniques to determine cloud solutions based on client requirements
• Analyzes operational activities to obtain a quantitative, rational basis for decision making and resource allocation
• Employs process improvements and reengineering methodologies and principles for modernization of cloud-based systems and projects.
• Creates project plans to achieve performance-based objectives, enhancing cloud implementation, systems and service
• Provides integral support in mission requirements determination, conceptualization, design, development, testing, verification and validation, documentation, and implementation of system applications. Senior staff manages, plans, and conducts major phases of significant projects.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, an Associate degree with 8 years relevant experience, or at least 10 years of relevant experience with no degree
• 6 years of relevant experience
• Active Secret Clearance
• US Citizenship
• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with major cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform). This includes understanding their service offerings across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS
• Familiarity with cloud management platforms and billing systems.
• Understanding and experience with container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automating cloud infrastructure management, provisioning, scaling, and monitoring.
• Understanding of cloud networking concepts, including virtual networks, subnets, firewalls, VPNs.
• Familiarity with both SQL and NoSQL databases, and experience with database programming and management in cloud contexts.
• Strong analytical skills to extract insights from data, identify patterns, and make data-driven decisions. This includes proficiency with data analysis tools and techniques (e.g., Excel, SQL, potentially Databricks).
• Innovative thinking to solve complex technical and business problems in the cloud environment.
• Experience with process improvement and reengineering methodologies for modernizing cloud-based systems.
• Ability to perform root cause analysis for issues and identify drivers for problems.
• Ability to create project plans, achieve performance-based objectives, and manage major phases of significant projects. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools like JIRA or Azure DevOps.
• Superior communication skills (written and oral) to articulate technical recommendations, collaborate with diverse stakeholders (technical and non-technical), and present complex information clearly.
• Experience working closely with development, operations, security, and business teams
• Ability to produce clear and comprehensive documentation for cloud systems, processes, and policies.
• Ability to analyze business requirements and design scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions. This might involve:
• Developing and implementing cloud architecture solutions.
  
• Collaborating with teams to provide scalable cloud infrastructure.
  
• Planning and deploying cloud systems.
  
• Monitoring and optimizing cloud performance, ensuring cost-effectiveness and scalability.
  
• Analyzing usage metrics and identifying cost-saving opportunities (FinOps principles).
  
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to cloud environments.
  
• Implementing and maintaining security best practices in the cloud (identity management, access control, data encryption).

Desired Certifications:

• Associate or Professional level certifications from major cloud providers (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate/Professional, Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect).
• FinOps Certified Practitioner or Professional.
• Certifications in cybersecurity, networking, or specific cloud technologies.

Benefit selection, customer contractual specifications, relevant work experience, skills, competencies, certifications, and clearance status will influence the final salary.
Full benefits: $132,000 to $198,000 annually
Reduced benefits (no medical, dental, vision): Up to $215,000 annually
