Principal Cloud Analyst

This position requires an Active Secret Clearance. Candidates who do not hold this clearance are not eligible for hire.. This is a remote position, however candidates must live within a reasonable driving distance of Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, MA. This position is contingent on award.

Solidus is on the hunt for a Principal Cloud Analyst to join our elite team.

Day in the life:

• Services performed include, but are not limited to, applying management analysis processes, statistical methods, and advanced technical and analytical research techniques to determine cloud solutions based on client requirements.
• Analyzes operational activities to obtain a quantitative, rational basis for decision making and resource allocation.
• Employs process improvements and reengineering methodologies and principles for modernization of cloud-based systems and projects.
• Creates project plans to achieve performance-based objectives, enhancing cloud implementation, systems and service.
• Provides integral support in mission requirements determination, conceptualization, design, development, testing, verification and validation, documentation, and implementation of system applications.
• Senior staff manages, plans, and conducts major phases of significant projects.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Masters degree with 11 years of relevant experience, a Bachelor degree with 13 years of relevant experience, or an Associate degree with 15 years of relevant experience
• Active Secret Clearance
• US Citizenship
• Expert-level knowledge of at least two major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP), including their core services (compute, storage, networking, databases, security, serverless, analytics, AI/ML services)
• Ability to perform comparative analysis of different cloud services and recommend the best fit for specific business needs, considering cost, performance, and compliance
• Experience with hybrid cloud and multi-cloud strategies
• Ability to design and implement scalable, resilient, and cost-effective cloud solutions
• Deep understanding of cloud design patterns, best practices (e.g., AWS Well-Architected Framework), and architectural principles
• Expertise in cloud security principles, tools, and best practices (IAM, network security, data encryption, security monitoring)
• Strong understanding of compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS) and how to implement them in the cloud
• Proficiency with various cloud-native databases (relational, NoSQL, data warehouses) and their administration
• Understanding data migration strategies to the cloud
• Ability to automate deployment, configuration, and management of cloud resources
• Experience in implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines for cloud applications
• Ability to set up effective alerting, dashboards, and performance analysis
• Exceptional diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for complex cloud issues
• Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement lasting solutions
• Ability to align cloud strategies with overall business goals and objectives
• Experience leading cloud initiatives and projects
• Ability to mentor junior cloud professionals and foster a culture of learning
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to present technical recommendations and justify architectural decisions
• Advanced analytical skills to identify challenges, evaluate solutions, and make informed decisions
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams (developers, operations, security, finance, leadership) and manage expectations

• Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect

Benefit selection, customer contractual specifications, relevant work experience, skills, competencies, certifications, and clearance status will influence the final salary.
Full benefits: $213,000 to $267,000 annually . Reduced benefits (no medical, dental, vision): Up to $289,000 annually
