Full benefits: $92,000 to $116,000 annually

Day in the life:
- Independently provision and configure core cloud resources such as Virtual Machines (EC2 instances, Azure VMs, GCP Compute Engine), storage solutions (S3 buckets, Azure Blob Storage, Cloud Storage), and fundamental networking components (VPCs/VNets, subnets, security groups/NSGs)
- Perform routine resource optimization (e.g., rightsizing instances, managing storage tiers, identifying idle resources) with an understanding of cost implications
- Assist in managing and optimizing database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Cloud SQL)
- Actively deploy and manage cloud-native applications and microservices.
- Implement and maintain application monitoring, logging, and tracing solutions using cloud-native services (e.g., CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Google Cloud Operations Suite/Logging/Monitoring) and third-party tools
- Develop and maintain robust scripts (primarily Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automating cloud operations, deployment processes, data manipulation, and system administration tasks
- Identify and propose opportunities for automation to enhance efficiency, reduce manual effort, and improve reliability
- Utilize cloud provider troubleshooting tools, logs, and metrics effectively to pinpoint root causes and implement solutions
- Implement and enforce cloud security best practices including configuring Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies (roles, users, groups, service principles) with the principle of least privilege
- Implement data encryption for data at rest and in transit
- Assist in security audits and vulnerability remediation, and contribute to compliance efforts (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2)
- Design and implement comprehensive monitoring dashboards and alerting mechanisms for critical cloud resources and application performance
- Analyze performance metrics, resource utilization, and cost data to identify areas for optimization and contribute to cost management strategies
- Proactively identify potential issues by setting up effective alerts and thresholds
- Create and maintain high-quality, comprehensive documentation for cloud architecture, deployment procedures, operational runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and system designs
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including software developers, DevOps engineers, security specialists, and project managers to understand requirements and deliver solutions
- Bachelor's Degree with 1 years of relevant experience, Associate Degree with 3 years of relevant experience, or no degree and 4+ years of relevant experience
- Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance
- US Citizenship
- Solid practical experience with services from at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Strong proficiency in Python or another relevant language (e.g., Go, Node.js) for automation and cloud interactions
- Experience with common CI/CD tools and pipelines
- Good understanding of cloud networking concepts (VPCs/VNets, subnets, routing, DNS, load balancing)
- Strong analytical and debugging skills to diagnose and resolve complex issues.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Active Secret Clearance
