Roles & Responsibilities:
Strategic Talent Leadership
- Develop and implement enterprise-wide talent management strategies that align with MITRE's mission to solve problems for a safer world and its long-term organizational objectives.
- Inspire and guide a team of HR Business Partners to deliver strategic consultation, organizational insights, and tailored talent solutions that empower business leaders to achieve their goals.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to proactively identify and address talent risks, workforce gaps, and organizational readiness for change, ensuring agility in a dynamic research and engineering environment.
Organizational Development & Culture
- Design and execute initiatives that strengthen organizational effectiveness, deepen leadership capabilities, and cultivate a culture of innovation, inclusion, and high performance.
- Lead enterprise-wide efforts in succession planning, leadership development, team effectiveness, and talent reviews to ensure a robust leadership pipeline and organizational resilience.
- Champion engagement strategies that foster collaboration, continuous learning, and alignment with MITRE's values and mission-driven culture.
Leadership Coaching & Business Partnership
- Serve as a trusted advisor and coach to executives and mid-level leaders, providing strategic guidance on team development, organizational transformation, and people strategies that drive impact.
- Partner with leaders to navigate organizational change, offering expertise in communication, stakeholder alignment, and talent implications to ensure successful outcomes.
Employee & Business Engagement
- Build and support a strong, fair, and collaborative employee relations team that fosters trust and organizational integrity.
- Develop strong relationships with the business and collaborate closely with colleagues to drive effective people solutions.
- Serve as a trusted partner and advisor to leaders and employees, providing guidance on complex people matters.
Basic Qualifications:
- Requires a minimum of 15 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Business, or related field; or 12 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 10 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
- 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, with a strong background in talent management, organizational development, and strategic business partnership.
- Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing HR teams that deliver impactful, mission-aligned solutions.
- Visionary leader with strong business acumen and a strategic mindset, capable of aligning talent strategies with MITRE's mission to tackle complex challenges for the public good.
- Expertise in leadership development, team dynamics, and change management, with the ability to foster organizational agility in a fast-paced, research-driven environment.
- Influential communicator adept at building trust, challenging assumptions, and guiding senior stakeholders toward innovative workforce solutions.
- Proven ability to drive transformation, cultivate a high-performing organizational culture, and inspire collaboration across diverse teams.

- Ability to lead organizational change initiatives, including restructuring, workforce planning, and cultural transformation, while maintaining employee trust and alignment with strategic goals.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.
- This position requires a minimum of 4 days a week on-site.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a mission-driven, knowledge-based organization such as research and development (R&D), higher education, nonprofit, or public sector, with a demonstrated ability to align HR strategies to support complex, purpose-driven environments.
- Advanced degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field, reflecting a commitment to continuous learning and leadership excellence.
- Professional certifications such as SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or Organizational Development (OD) certification, showcasing expertise in HR leadership and strategic workforce management.
- Hands-on experience with Workday and other HR technology platforms, leveraging tools to drive innovation, streamline processes, and enhance workforce analytics capabilities.
- Track record of integrating HR technology solutions to optimize employee experience, improve operational efficiency, and deliver data-driven insights that inform organizational strategy.
- Deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within mission-oriented organizations, with the ability to foster collaboration, innovation, and alignment across diverse teams.
- Expertise in HR leadership within government contracting, with a proven ability to navigate complex, highly regulated environments while driving strategic workforce solutions.
