Position Description (PD) for ServiceNow Developer
Position Title: ServiceNow Developer
Status: Permanent/Full-Time
Location: On-site
Scope of Work: This support will be primarily for the Data Center and Cloud Hosting Services (DC2HS) Division, but in addition to supporting the DC2HS Division, the contractor shall support the Program Executive Office for Digital and Enterprise Services (PEO Digital), PEO for Manpower, Logistics, and Business Solutions (PEO MLB), Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), Navy Reserves, and other Department of Navy (DON) Business and Enterprise Systems, Department of Defense (DoD) and Federal organizations. The DC2HS division provides engineering, logistics, and PM support solutions for Manpower, Logistics, and Business challenges; provides automation through development and deployment of modern software-intensive solutions; includes hosting for software application and services including private and commercial Cloud services; and installs and sustain Enterprise Logistics and Maintenance Solutions for the Fleet.
We are seeking a highly experienced ServiceNow Developer/Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical background with a minimum of 6 years of experience designing, developing, and implementing ServiceNow solutions across various modules, including ITSM, ITBM, and ITOM. This role demands a deep understanding of ITIL best practices, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to translate business requirements into efficient and user-friendly solutions.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Solution Design & Development:
• Analyze business requirements and design innovative ServiceNow solutions across ITSM, ITBM, and ITOM modules, including Incident, Change, Problem, Knowledge, Service Catalog, CMDB, and integrations with other platforms like OKTA.
• Develop and customize ServiceNow components, including workflows, forms, scripts (Client Scripts, UI Policies, Business Rules), UI pages, reports, and dashboards.
• Implement ServiceNow integrations using REST APIs, SOAP, Web Services, and other integration methods.
• Design and develop self-service portals, focusing on user experience and ease of use.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for all developed solutions.
Implementation & Support:
• Lead and participate in ServiceNow implementations, upgrades, and migrations.
• Configure and customize ServiceNow instances based on best practices and client requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve ServiceNow related issues, including performance optimization and system errors.
• Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing ServiceNow implementations.
Collaboration & Communication:
• Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, understand business processes, and present proposed solutions.
• Collaborate effectively with IT teams and third-party vendors to ensure seamless integrations and project delivery.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences
Requirements/Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, computer information systems, or a similar field
• 6+ years of experience as a ServiceNow Consultant/Developer with a proven track record of delivering successful implementations.
• Strong understanding of ITIL framework and best practices, preferably with ITIL v3 certification.
• Expertise in ServiceNow development using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Jelly, AngularJS, and ServiceNow APIs.
• Experience with ServiceNow integrations using REST, SOAP, and other integration methods.
• Experience with ServiceNow platform administration tasks, including user and group management, security configuration, and instance maintenance.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Experience with other ITSM tools like BMC Remedy or HP Service Desk is a plus.
• Knowledge of Java, SQL, and other programming languages is beneficial.
• Experience with ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF) is a plus.
• Strong understanding of IT security best practices.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• ServiceNow Administrator Fundamentals certification is a plus
• Must be CompTIA Security+ or CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) certified or Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP).
• Must be a US citizen and hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET clearance and possibly a TOP SECRET Security Clearance
