Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Technician 2 to join our production team in Goleta, CA. This full-time, first-shift position plays a key role in layup and panel fabrication activities, working closely with engineering to support setup, calibration, rework, and quality assurance operations. Ideal candidates are hands-on, detail-oriented individuals with experience in composite materials and a strong mechanical aptitude.

Key Responsibilities:
Support all manufacturing operations including part layup, bonding, fabrication, and sub-assembly builds.

Collaborate with engineers to perform setup, calibration, and process optimization.

Conduct rework and quality testing of manufactured components.

Operate data collection and evaluation tools for in-line product adjustments.

Participate in tooling preparation and apply release agents as needed.

Perform bonding of composite structures to metal fittings using adhesives.

Track adhesive material usage, pot life, out-time, and traceability per process guidelines.

Read and interpret manufacturing blueprints, shop planning, and work instructions.

Use measurement tools including calipers, rulers, and tape measures for accurate fabrication.

Assist with experiments and prototyping as directed by engineering teams.

Maintain workspace cleanliness and support general shop upkeep.

Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent, and/or 3 years of related education or experience.

U.S. Citizenship required.

Strong attention to detail and quality.

Ability to work under limited supervision and within a collaborative team.

Physically able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds.

Ability to stand for up to 8+ hours daily.

Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in composites manufacturing or aerospace/space structure fabrication.

Demonstrated mechanical skills and hands-on fabrication experience.

Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings.

Knowledge of ISO standards and manufacturing compliance practices.

Familiarity with cranes, rigging, and forklift operations.

Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
