Education

A bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees.
NOTE: The education requirement listed above applies only to individuals entering DoD GS-1102 positions on or after October 1, 2000. Current civilian personnel in DoD who occupied GS-1102 positions or contracting positions with authority to award or administer contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold in an Executive Department on or before September 30, 2000 are exempt from meeting this requirement. Current military members who occupied a similar occupational specialty to the GS (or equivalent) 1102 or before September 30, 2000 are also exempt from meeting this requirement.

Help
- You will serve as the Lead Contract Specialist supporting the procurement and negotiation of highly complex, high priority and high visibility price proposals with various pricing structures.
- You will evaluate contractor proposals to ensure that the contractor is notified timely of any inadequate proposals and the documentation required for further proposal evaluation.
- You will lead audits of a business system to include issuance and verification of corrective and preventive actions and independently seeks out process improvement opportunities.
- You will coordinate, inform, and brief significant subcontract management issues and delays with the Chief of the Contracting Office, Contracts Department, SSGR as well as program offices and projects representatives.
- You will analyze prime contact proposals for accuracy and fair and reasonable price determinations.
- You will advise the contractor on the quality and effectiveness of its cost/price and technical analysis of its subcontract proposals.
