In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Degree: Completion of a doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (external link) (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (external link) at the time the degree was obtained.
Exemption: You are exempt from the basic requirement above if you are a current federal employee occupying a position in the 0660 occupational series and have been continuously employed in this occupational series since September 27, 2017 or before. Note: You will be required to provide appropriate documentation to the respective Human Resources Office to validate your status.
License: Possess licensure to practice pharmacy in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
Medical Requirement: Applicants must be able to distinguish basic colors.
Experience Required: Specialized Experience is defined as: at least one year of professional pharmacy experience which includes dispensing medication, preparing pharmaceuticals, and providing inpatient or outpatient functions such as developing pharmacokinetics and pharmacotherapeutic regimens.

Help
- Serve as the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) expert in the medication-use system on all aspects of pharmaceutical care to optimize health outcomes.
- Monitor the dispensing of all pharmaceuticals in the MTF and allied facilities.
- Develop, with the attending physician, pharmacotherapeutic regimens for especially difficult or complex cases.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend which items will be utilized (stocked) based on their indications for use, safety, effectiveness, toxicity, Pharmacoeconomics economy, and appropriateness for the intended use.
- Oversee, participate, and monitor all aspects of the medication management system for a patient population to optimize patient outcomes.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination.
