Overview
Small Arms Instructor (JXN 2025-23472):
Bowhead is seeking a highly motivated Small Arms Instructor to support a proposal effort for the Weapons Systems Training Branch at Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane. The successful candidate will play a critical role in developing high-quality, mission-focused training solutions for advanced weapon systems used by the U.S. Navy and other defense stakeholders.

Bowhead is seeking a highly motivated Small Arms Instructor to support a proposal effort for the Weapons Systems Training Branch at Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane. The successful candidate will play a critical role in developing high-quality, mission-focused training solutions for advanced weapon systems used by the U.S. Navy and other defense stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Essential functions will include:
- Provide weapon system inspection, maintenance, documentation, and repair in accordance with USSOCOM Technical Manual specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to document operation, maintenance, and repair procedures.
- Develop and deliver New Equipment Training (NET), maintenance training, and refresher training to military and civilian personnel.
- Provide logistics documentation and support for training curriculum updates.
- Ensure all training materials and documentation are accurate and up to date.
- Provide SOF-p weapon systems NET, maintenance, and refresher training to military and civilian personnel at OCONUS locations in support of USSOCOM.
- Manage small arms, repair parts, tools, and accessories inventory while maintaining accountability for Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and updating logistics records.
- Provide training curriculum updates, logistics documentation, and report generation support.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education, Psychology or related Training Systems dicipline with ten (10) years professional experience in curriculum development.
- Must have basic instructor and safety requirements certifications.
- Must be able to pass a medical screening, pyschological evaluation (in accordance with commercially available screening guide such as the Minnesota Multi-Phasic Inventory)
- Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
- Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
- Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
