Autonomy Engineer, Lead
Key Role:
Support the research and development of robotic and unmanned systems across multiple operational domains and mission areas. Function at the intersection of sof tware and hardware to design, build, test, and demonstrate new robotic capabilities that address complex client problems in sensing, autonomy, and human interaction. Apply advanced skills, extensive technical expertise , and full industry knowledge. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Work without considerable direction and mentor and supervise team members.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. Autonomy Engineer, Lead

Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience with C / C++ sof tware development and working Linux based systems on embedded devices
- 3+ years of experience with ROS sof tware development for robotic applications
- 2+ years of experience working with UAS platforms and PX4 based flight controllers, sof tware containerization methods, and utilities such as Docker and Docker-compose
- Experience developing autonomy algorithms such as localization and path planning for navigation, and debugging complex algorithms on hardware assets
- Experience with State Estimation algorithms such as SLAM and VIO, and Sensor Fusion and Filtering techniques including Kalman filters and particle filters
- Knowledge of robotic sensors and platforms
- Ability to support all phases of the sof tware development life cycle including requirements specification, design, implementation, integration, and testing
- Ability to write interfaces for new sensor systems
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Sof tware Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, or in a Robotics field
Additional Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience with computer vision, camera models, and camera calibrations
- 3+ years of experience with DevOps working with pipelines and runners
- Experience working with DoD customers and mission sets
- Secret clearance
- Master's degree in Sof tware Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, or in a Robotics field preferred ; Doctorate degree in Sof tware Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, or in a Robotics field a plus
- Part 107 Certification
