About the Role:
Aquila is seeking a Solutions Architect t o join our team in supporting one of the country's premier defense research organizations. The Solutions Architect will provide support for efforts to develop and integrate the next generation of geostationary civilian operational EO/IR weather sensing instrumentation and systems, focusing on system re-baselining and plan re-development, system refinement, requirements refinement, requirements flow-down, and knowledge capture of lessons learned.

There are a few requirements for the position:
- Must be a U.S Citizen- Must be able to obtain an an Active Secret Clearance (Green Cards / Visas do not qualify)
- Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background investigation and maintain a personal security clearance. (Aquila would sponsor you for the security clearance.)
- Must be within 100 miles of worksite (Lexington, MA) on-site 4 trips per calendar year to Lexington if the program/project requires it

- 10 years - Engineering
- 10 years - NASA engineering lifecycle design reviews
- 10 years - Systems Engineering
- 10 years - NOAA satellite programs development
- 10 years - Standard NASA procedures
- 10 years - Program/Project Management OR Analysis
- 10 years - Work with Cross-Functional Teams
- 10 years - Development and deployment of operational systems
- 10 years - System-wide testing and validation
- Degree Level: Masters Degree
- Strong Verbal and Written Communication

What You Will Bring:
- Extensive experience in NOAA satellite program development
- Familiarity with NASA standard procedures (7120, 8705, etc,)
- Extensive experience in development and deployment of operational systems
- Extensive experience in verification and validation of system-wide testing
- Experience with NASA engineering lifecycle design reviews
- Understanding of systems engineering practices
- Understanding of system acquisition
- Must have excellent written and oral communications and interpersonal skills.
- Must have extensive experience with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work in a team composed of both technical and non-technical members is critical.
- MS. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Astrophysics, Astronomy, or related area is preferred. In lieu of an MS., an BS with a minimum of 10 years of directly related experience will be considered.
Must have Experience:
- Knowledge of weather products and algorithms
- Experience with higher-level programming language
