What You Will Do:
As a Cryptanalytic Computer Scientist at Independent Software, you will apply your expertise in computer science, mathematics, and electrical or computer engineering to solve complex problems in cryptanalysis and high-performance computing. You'll engage in both front-end and back-end development while contributing to deep technical analysis and secure software engineering in support of mission-critical operations. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize software in Python and C++ to automate and enhance cryptanalytic workflows
- Apply networking knowledge and customer toolsets to design and integrate secure, effective solutions
- Research and implement tradecraft techniques to support both emerging technologies and legacy systems
- Leverage mathematical concepts and computing models to address cryptanalytic and HPC challenges
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Python and C++
- Familiarity with networking concepts and mission toolsets
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work across disciplines including analytics, software development, and secure computing
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related) with 2+ years relevant experience, or
- Associate's degree with 4+ years relevant experience
- Degree must include at least one programming course and four upper-level mathematics courses (Calculus and above)
- Relevant experience must include one or more of the following:
- Applied or theoretical computer science
- Designing, developing, or evaluating mathematical models or algorithms
- Computer or electrical engineering
- High-performance computing
- Must possess an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance to be considered for this role.
