The Security Data Analyst will provide PKI compliance oversight, security incident data management, and Certificate Revocation List (CRL) support for the Navy's Communications Security (COMSEC) and Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) Program. This role focuses on monitoring security events, supporting cyber incident reporting, managing PKI certificates, and ensuring compliance with DoD and Navy cybersecurity policies.
Key Responsibilities:
PKI Certificate Compliance & Revocation:
* Monitor and process PKI certificate revocation requests from the Department of Defense (DoD), Department of the Navy (DON), and Navy Network Operators.
* Manage Certificate Revocation Lists (CRLs) for SIPRNet PKI and SIPRNet Token Management Systems.
* Revoke or suspend PKI certificates to prevent unauthorized system access.
* Track and document revoked certificates in centralized databases, maintaining accurate and auditable records.
* Provide reports and notifications on revoked certificates to appropriate stakeholders and system administrators.
* Support CRL publication and distribution to ensure seamless network-wide updates.
* Maintain SOPs for certificate revocation and update PKI process documentation in accordance with DoDI 8520.02.
Cybersecurity Incident Reporting & Data Management:
* Assist in identifying, tracking, and reporting cybersecurity incidents related to PKI, SIPRNet tokens, and certificate misuse.
* Coordinate with Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Stations (NCTAMS) and other network operators for incident resolution.
* Maintain security incident logs, track mitigation actions, and assist in drafting incident reports.
* Interface with external organizations such as DISA, USCYBERCOM, and JFHQ-DODIN for incident coordination.
* Provide data analysis to identify patterns of misuse, insider threat indicators, or potential vulnerabilities within the PKI environment.
* Ensure compliance with incident handling procedures as outlined in DoD and DON cybersecurity guidelines.
* Support training and awareness activities related to PKI misuse prevention and incident response.
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.
* 2+ years of experience in security data analysis, PKI management, or cyber incident response.
* Understanding of DoD PKI, certificate management, and CRL processes.
* Familiarity with DoD incident reporting procedures and cybersecurity event logging.
* Experience managing databases, spreadsheets, and incident tracking tools.
* Strong attention to detail and analytical skills for incident and revocation data management.
* Excellent communication and report writing abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in a DoD Registration Authority (RA), Local Registration Authority (LRA), or ISSO role.
* Prior experience with ACAS scanning, STIG compliance, and Navy cybersecurity reporting.
* Knowledge of JFHQ-DODIN cyber incident reporting procedures.
