Position Overview
Quantum Science Solutions (QSS) is seeking a talented Software Engineer to design,
develop, and integrate enterprise software systems using modern frameworks, languages,
and tools. This role supports a dynamic, Agile environment focused on delivering scalable,
performant, and secure applications that enable mission success.
The ideal candidate will bring hands-on development experience, DevOps familiarity, and
comfort with full lifecycle software engineering, from requirements analysis through
production deployment.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop detailed software designs and associated technical documentation.
• Translate system and user requirements into robust software designs.
• Design intuitive and scalable system interfaces.
• Build Single Page Applications using HTML5, CSS3, and Angular 18+.
• Develop and integrate RESTful web services using technologies such as Java, Scala,
Spring Boot, Solr, Elastic, and Postgres.
• Work with both relational and non-relational databases including Amazon RDS,
DynamoDB, and PostgreSQL.
• Troubleshoot web and internet technologies including Tomcat, Node.js, Web
Services, and SSL.
• Write and execute unit tests with JUnit and Jasmine; conduct frontend testing with
Jest or Karma.
• Implement DevOps practices using Git, Jenkins, Nexus, or similar tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the Agile software lifecycle.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
• Proven experience with full-stack development and software interface design.
• Hands-on experience developing SPAs and integrating front-end and back-end
technologies.
• Proficiency with database schema design and data integration.
• Experience working in Agile teams and participating in Scrum ceremonies.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps toolchains.
• Ability to produce clean, testable, and maintainable code.
• Effective communication skills for engaging with engineering, testing, and
operations teams.

Desired Skills
• Familiarity with Sponsor-specific Agile methodologies and workflows.
• Experience with sprint metrics (burn-up charts, top-line charts).
• Understanding of Sponsor data repositories, search services, segmentation tools,
and recommendation systems.
• Experience working with tagging/folder services, federated search, discovery tools,
or Pre-NLP pipelines.
• Prior work with COTS product integrations and customization is a plus.

Education Requirement
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
