If you are a self-starter known for your partnership skills and keen eye for detail, come join us as a Designer! In this role, you will be using your skills and expertise to develop designs, technical drawings, and models. These cover a very wide range, from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems.

As the Electronic Computer-Aided-Design (ECAD) Designer: Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Parts Librarian, you will be responsible for curating and maintaining a database of schematic symbols and footprint libraries to be used for all PCB layout projects. You will develop PCB/CCA parts library elements including electronic schematic symbols, PCB footprints, and 3D models using vendor datasheets along with industry and company standards. You will work closely with design engineers, component engineers and supply chain on creating ECAD parts and maintaining an up to date and accurate parts database. You will also be responsible for driving process decisions, automating, and supporting the integration of our library with other internal tools.

The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains - air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Responsibilities:
  • Curate and maintain an PCB parts library/database of schematic symbols, footprints, and 3D models.
  • Create and maintain schematic symbols for the PCB library from component vendor data sheets.
  • Create and maintain solder pad footprints for PCB library from component vendor data sheets and IPC standards.
  • Create and maintain 3D Models of PCB library parts for use by Mechanical Engineering.
  • PCB layout using Cadence Allegro, Mentor Graphics Expedition, or PADs


Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field of study and typically 2+ years of relevant experience
    • A higher level degree may substitute for experience
    • Associates degree in drafting or other related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
  • PCB Layout Experience
  • Understanding of engineering principles and practices
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams


Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Background in the Aerospace & Defense Industry
  • Experience in PCB and schematic library design or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience in CAD libraries is desired.
  • Associate degree or certificate in Graphics Technology or Engineering Technology is desired but not required.
  • Experience with PCB and CCA design software applications and related PC equipment.
  • Specific experience with Cadence Allegro, Mentor Xpedition®, and PADS applications is desirable.
  • Knowledge of and experience with electrical components, component vendor data sheets, and electrical schematics is desirable.
  • General knowledge of industry standards such as IPC for design and ASME/ANSI for documentation is desired.
