Job Summary:
B&A is looking for a Cloud Security Engineer to join a contract with a federal government client in support of an important mission. We are seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to help design, implement, and maintain secure cloud infrastructure and services across our organization. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and a strong understanding of modern security practices, automation, and compliance frameworks.

Job Summary:
B&A is looking for a Cloud Security Engineer to join a contract with a federal government client in support of an important mission. We are seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to help design, implement, and maintain secure cloud infrastructure and services across our organization. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and a strong understanding of modern security practices, automation, and compliance frameworks.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and manage cloud-native security tools and configurations to ensure secure cloud environments (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
- Work closely with DevOps, infrastructure, and application teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines (DevSecOps).
- Monitor, assess, and respond to cloud security alerts and vulnerabilities using tools like CSPM, SIEM, and threat detection services.
- Conduct security assessments and risk evaluations for cloud resources and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Develop and maintain cloud security standards, policies, and procedures in alignment with best practices and compliance requirements (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA).
- Collaborate with compliance and audit teams to support evidence gathering and reporting.
- Support incident response activities for cloud-based systems and contribute to forensic investigations when needed.
- Stay informed on emerging cloud threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 2 years specifically in cloud security engineering.
Required Skills:
- Hands-on experience with one or more major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
- Proficient in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.) for automation and security tasks.
- Experience with security monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., AWS GuardDuty, Azure Sentinel, Chronicle, Splunk).
- Solid understanding of IAM, encryption, network security, and container security (e.g., Kubernetes, EKS, AKS).
- Knowledge of cloud compliance and governance frameworks.
Desired Skills:
- Experience working in DevSecOps environments with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
- Exposure to zero-trust architectures and secure access technologies.
- Understanding of cloud workload protection platforms (CWPP) and cloud security posture management (CSPM).
- Experience in regulated environments (finance, healthcare, government).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation and cross-team collaboration.
Security Clearance:
- Active Top Secret / SCI clearance required.
