MTSI is seeking a Chief Architect to lead the design, integration, and evolution of a next-generation air combat system architecture. This position is responsible for driving technical strategy across a family of systems in support of advanced air dominance objectives. You will work at the intersection of systems engineering, mission design, cybersecurity, and platform integration to deliver a scalable and secure system-of-systems solution. This is a role supports USAF senior leadership in defining future capability frameworks across air, space, and cyber domains.

Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise and mission architecture development for next-generation combat platforms and their enabling systems.
- Translate operational concepts and capability needs into interoperable, modular, and secure architectural designs.
- Define interface standards, integration patterns, and technical baselines to ensure system coherence.
- Engage in digital engineering efforts including MBSE, digital thread development, and architecture modeling.
- Provide architecture leadership and technical oversight across software, hardware, communications, and autonomy components.
- Facilitate technical working groups and stakeholder alignment across government, FFRDC, and industry participants.
- Ensure architectural solutions meet mission resilience, scalability, cybersecurity, and performance requirements.
- Deliver architecture artifacts including CONOPS, OV/SV views, interface control documents, and configuration baselines.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
- 12+ years of experience supporting complex defense acquisition or advanced development programs.
- Proven experience as a lead architect on multi-platform, integrated systems.
- Strong understanding of mission system integration, open architectures, and digital engineering tools.
- Familiarity with DoDAF, UAF, or similar architecture frameworks.
- Experience coordinating across cross-functional engineering teams and government stakeholders.
- Must possess an active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for SCI.
Desired
- Master's degree in a technical discipline or systems architecture.
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools (e.g., Cameo, Rhapsody, or Enterprise Architect).
- Familiarity with air dominance or future combat air system mission requirements.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps pipelines, autonomy, or advanced communication systems.
- INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or equivalent certification.
