Systems Planning and Analysis is searching for a dynamic team member, in a newly created role, to lead our AP team for the finance organization. The Company is experiencing a high rate of growth and needs a leader to come and create scalable processes for a larger organization. This role requires excellent knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) as well as experience managing a team of individuals.

Systems Planning and Analysis is searching for a dynamic team member, in a newly created role, to lead our AP team for the finance organization. This role requires excellent knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) as well as experience managing a team of individuals.
Expected Contributions and Responsibilities
- Manage compliance of all AP and Expense transactions with GAAP, CAS, and the FAR
- Manage the maintenance and documentation of proper controls and policies related to accounts payable and expense reporting with the Controller
- Oversee the entire AP process including invoice management, approvals tracking, and resolution of vendor inquiries to ensure timely and accurate payment
- Ensure AP team resolves differences timely between check requests/purchase orders and vendors statements
- Manage the team with the process accounts payable checks, wire transfers, and ACH payments.
- Assist with the completion of the annual Incurred Cost Submission, as needed
- Assist in the annual budget process and provide support, as needed
- Ensure all audit requests are provided timely and accurately from the AP team
- Review and maintain the monthly reconciliation of all respective general ledger accounts and resolve variances timely
- Manage a team of individuals with varied backgrounds to optimal performance
- Perform account research and ad-hoc accounting/reporting/administrative tasks
- Support the integration of new systems and acquisitions.
- Work cross-functionally with other departments to resolve issues and discrepancies.
- Promote a positive team environment.
- Supervise and mentor the Accounts Payable and Expense Report teams to ensure optimal performance and professional growth.
- Allocate tasks and monitor workloads to meet deadlines and maintain department efficiency.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching to enhance team skills.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities to address both routine and unexpected challenges.

Responsibilities
- 10+ years Accounting experience, including managing others
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (preferred)
- Government contracting and Deltek Costpoint experience
- Knowledge of GAAP, CAS, FAR and control understanding
- Strong organizational, prioritization skills, and attention to detail
- Actively focuses on team development and growth
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrate high level of integrity, professionalism including teamwork
- Ability to effectively plan, work well under pressure and short deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong problem solving, research, and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to work in a collaborative environment
- Creates an atmosphere in which timely information flows smoothly through the organization

- Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills
