Rivet Operations Company has an opening for a Business Analyst to join our rapidly growing team in the Norfolk, VA area. The Business Analyst provides financial analysis, data collection, and reporting support to the Military Sealift Command's (MSC) Comptroller Directorate (N8). This role involves interpreting and presenting complex financial data, preparing analyses for decision-making, and supporting Department of Defense (DoD) financial management processes
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Collect, record, interpret, maintain, and present financial data related to U.S. Navy and USTRANSCOM mission activities.
* Prepare detailed financial analyses and develop deliverables for aggregated (command/fund level) and disaggregated (vessel, program, N-code objectives) reporting.
* Support technical recommendations, migration, and sustainment efforts for the Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (NERP) system.
* Assist with Office of Management and Budget Circular A-123 (OMB A-123) program development and sustainment tasks.
* Participate in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
* Capture and codify standard operating procedures into desk guides for recurring financial transactions.
* Support the identification, analysis, and implementation of process improvements.
* Provide advice and coordination for special financial projects and research initiatives.
* Ensure data tracking and reconciliation of both internal and external financial data sources.
Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree (required).
* Minimum of 3 years of documented experience as a Business Analyst.
* Documented experience working with the Department of Defense Financial Management Regulation (DoD FMR) or comparable regulation.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Skills:
* Experience supporting large-scale ERP implementations, especially Navy ERP/NERP.
* Familiarity with data analysis tools and methods relevant to federal financial management.
* Knowledge of financial data systems, including Navy Data Platform (NDP), Advana, and related systems.
Security:
Requires the applicant to pass the security clearance requirement for the position. Eligibility requirements include US citizenship.
