Summary:

The Information Technology (IT) & Information Security (IS) Audit Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the Internal Audit Department’s oversight of IT and IS risk. This position is responsible for coordinating audit documentation, performing targeted testing of IT and IS controls, and tracking the remediation of audit findings. The role serves as a liaison between Internal Audit, IT, IS, and external auditors, ensuring timely communication, accurate reporting, and issue resolution. Reporting directly to the Director of Internal Audit, the position supports the effectiveness of internal controls by evaluating remediation efforts and reporting progress to management and governance committees. The ideal candidate has experience in IT audits or risk management, understands IT control frameworks, and can independently assess whether corrective actions address root causes of issues.

Responsibilities:

•            Coordinates the collection of documentation and responses for IT and IS audits and examinations; ensures requests are completed accurately and timely.

•            Performs follow-up testing to validate that IT and IS audit findings have been appropriately remediated in alignment with internal control expectations.

•            Serves as a point of contact for IT and IS audit remediation, communicating directly with business units and control owners to clarify requirements and request supporting documentation.

•            Analyzes remediation evidence to assess sufficiency, identify gaps, and escalate unresolved or ineffective actions to Internal Audit leadership.

•            Tracks the status of IT/IS findings across all audits and exams; maintains dashboards, logs, and reports to monitor remediation progress and identify overdue or at-risk items.

•            Provides written summaries of remediation status for reporting to senior management, the Supervisory Committee, and the Board of Directors, as needed.

•            Coordinates walkthroughs and control discussions with IT and IS staff to support audit procedures or clarify remediation strategies.

•            Maintains a thorough and organized repository of audit documentation, remediation evidence, and follow-up testing results.

•            Collaborate with the Internal Audit team on the development and execution of IT audit plans and risk-based scoping activities.

•            Assists in evaluating and refining internal procedures for issue tracking, testing, and documentation to improve audit efficiency and effectiveness.

•            Maintains working knowledge of IT general controls, cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, COBIT), and regulatory expectations applicable to financial institutions.

•            Upholds the confidentiality of sensitive audit findings, remediation plans, and IT/security documentation.

Required Qualifications:

•            Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Information Security, Business, Accounting, or related field.

•            Two or more years of experience in IT audit, risk management, compliance, or a similar technical field.

•            Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
