About 10x National Security
At 10x National Security, we build fast, mission-aligned software and AI capabilities that accelerate outcomes for national security. We are the team behind solutions like VDetect, Vortex HMI, and Voxaverse, and we thrive where others stall—on the edge, in the cloud, across enclaves, and under pressure. We work shoulder-to-shoulder with DoD and IC operators to deploy AI systems that are reliable, explainable, and operational in DDIL environments.
We are looking for exceptional AI Engineers who want to do meaningful work—no hype, just impact.
Role Overview
As an AI Engineer supporting one of our critical DoD customers, you will design, develop, and deploy artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities into real-world operational environments. You will work closely with mission stakeholders, software developers, and DevSecOps teams to build secure, scalable, and robust AI systems. You will be expected to work across the lifecycle—data ingestion, model training, MLOps, and inference integration—under security constraints and in support of national defense objectives.
This is not a research lab role. You will be building tools that get deployed and used.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and deploy ML models and pipelines that support national security missions.
Engineer production-ready AI solutions using Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc. in edge or cloud environments.
Collaborate with software teams to containerize, optimize, and integrate models into full-stack systems using Docker, Kubernetes, or equivalent.
Implement MLOps pipelines using tools like MLFlow, ClearML, or SageMaker to enable model versioning, reproducibility, and CI/CD.
Build and manage secure data workflows—feature stores, labeling pipelines, and synthetic data generation—for both unclassified and classified environments.
Work directly with government operators, mission owners, and analysts to refine requirements and deploy mission-critical tools.
Required Qualifications
U.S. Citizen with an active Secret or higher clearance (or clearable to Top Secret).
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Math, or a related technical field.
3+ years of experience developing and deploying machine learning models.
Deep proficiency in Python and major AI/ML libraries (e.g., PyTorch, HuggingFace Transformers, scikit-learn).
Strong experience with end-to-end MLOps and model deployment in containerized environments.
Familiarity with security-first software development practices (e.g., static code analysis, SBOMs, STIGs, zero trust).
Strong communication skills and the ability to work in cross-functional, agile teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience integrating models with real-time systems or sensor data platforms.
Familiarity with DoD AI guidance documents such as DoD 8000.01, RAIC, and NIST IR 8432.
Why Join 10x National Security
Mission-Focused Culture: Every engineer at 10x is building something that matters. We don’t do slideware—we deploy.
S3O3 Values: Speed, Science, Simplicity, Ownership, Openness, and Opportunity define how we operate.
Startup Vibe, National Security Impact: Join a team that moves fast, thinks deeply, and works directly with warfighters and analysts to solve the hardest problems in defense and intelligence.
Equity and Upside: Cash + equity packages available. Build something that you own.
