- You will be responsible for providing logistical guidance and leading Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) efforts for multiple programs, platforms, and systems.
- You will plan, schedule, and coordinate DMSMS functions for major acquisition programs of considerable scope and complexity.
- You will serve as a consultant to program managers, associates, and other support activities for DMSMS policy and guidance and is a reliable source of information.
- You will coordinate the day-to-day efforts of project teams consisting of engineers, technicians, and logisticians in identifying and resolving DMSMS and obsolescence issues for assigned programs.
- You will propose and/or evaluate modifications to the system, process, or equipment involved to mitigate DMSMS and obsolescence issues to extend the life of the system.
- You will collect configuration, supply, obsolescence, and technical data; assimilate, research, and analyze; documents and reports system logistics and operational impacts.
- You will research and provide solutions to mitigate obsolescence issues. Review drawings, manuals, and specifications to support obsolescence mitigation paths.
- You will develop, define, and/or apply improved analysis techniques and methods to solve problems associated with DMSMS.
- You will utilize the Obsolescence Management Information System (OMIS).
- You will manage and track (DMSMS) data and mitigation plans/strategies to final implementation.
- You will provide Pre-Induction of system Bill of Material (BOM) verification and validation; research, add, update system and parts data based on supply, configuration, and technical information (APL/OEM/CFE/DWG).
- You will induct/Load system Bill of Material (BOM) into OMIS; final BOM quality review, BOM integrity check, test server load, and final production server load.
- You will provide post-induction support; research, add, update, maintain, report system and parts data based on supply, configuration, and engineering change (APL/OEM/CFE/DWG).
- You will utilize OMIS Obsolescence Case Log (OCL); create, update, manage, and report system obsolescence caseloads.
- You will utilize OMIS analysis and reporting tools; part health status; graphical analysis; obsolescence forecast; internal and external reporting features.
- You will serve as program office representative at stakeholder meetings with manufacturers, organic and commercial repair activities, program office personnel, system integrators and others.
- You will mentor junior level Logisticians and provide guidance; on-the-job training; tasks; and projects for new Logisticians.
- You will review work and provide feedback for junior level Logisticians and colleagues as requested. Provides subject matter input for logistics development plans.
