This role is ideal for candidates passionate about donor care and skilled in venipuncture and blood collection procedures.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Donor Phlebotomy program (Joint Commission or CAP)
- Certification as a Donor Phlebotomy Technician (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 50 successful donor or patient venipunctures
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform donor screening, blood collection, and component processing
- Conduct phlebotomy, take vitals, and monitor donor well-being
- Operate and maintain blood collection and apheresis equipment
- Label, process, and store specimens according to SOP and FDA guidelines
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and infection control standards
- Provide guidance to students and staff on proper phlebotomy techniques
- Support mobile blood drives and maintain donor area cleanliness
This position will offer:
