Position Summary
Northern Technologies Group (NTG) is seeking a Cyber Security Subject Matter Expert III (SME III) with deep technical knowledge and operational insight to support mission-critical cybersecurity, data, or enterprise architecture efforts within the Department of Defense's SAP IT environment. The SME III will provide high-level advisory support, technical analysis, and solution development for complex problems requiring specialized expertise and domain awareness in highly classified environments.

Position Summary
Northern Technologies Group (NTG) is seeking a Cyber Security Subject Matter Expert III (SME III) with deep technical knowledge and operational insight to support mission-critical cybersecurity, data, or enterprise architecture efforts within the Department of Defense's SAP IT environment. The SME III will provide high-level advisory support, technical analysis, and solution development for complex problems requiring specialized expertise and domain awareness in highly classified environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as a senior expert and trusted advisor for designated technical focus areas such as:
- Cybersecurity policy, RMF compliance, and A&A strategy
- Data governance, architecture, or integration
- Cloud, hybrid, or cross-domain infrastructure security
- Digital engineering or MBSE methodologies
- Develop and deliver advanced technical analyses, strategic assessments, and recommendations that influence DoD CIO SAP IT enterprise direction.
- Design and prepare white papers, technical reports, SOPs, and decision briefings for government leadership.
- Participate in working groups, tiger teams, and internal planning sessions to guide the development of operational and technical solutions.
- Support the creation, review, and standardization of cybersecurity and system engineering documentation across SAP programs.
- Advise on system design, interoperability, and implementation plans based on mission requirements and DoD policies.
- Evaluate program risk, system performance, compliance posture, security architecture and provide remediation guidance.
- Provide technical mentoring and leadership to junior personnel as needed.
- Support incident response, readiness planning, and strategic enterprise initiatives as required by the government lead.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Active Top Secret/ SCI (TS/SCI) federal security clearance with eligibility for SAP access
- Master's degree in a field related to tasking (e.g., cybersecurity, engineering, information systems, intelligence)
- Minimum of 15 years of related technical experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Recognized authority or published contributor in a relevant DoD or national security discipline
- Deep familiarity with classified IT systems, SAP/SAR environments, and DoD cybersecurity frameworks
- Experience supporting policy development, high-level technical strategy, or enterprise-level architecture
- Exceptional writing, briefing, and analytical skills for senior-level decision-making
- Proficiency with tools such as eMASS, ACAS, RMF toolsets, cloud platforms, or data engineering stacks (depending on domains
