Amentum is seeking an Engineering Technician to perform Test and Evaluation, and configuration management as member of the Shipboard Electromagnetic Compatibility Improvement Program (SEMCIP) team.

Engineering Technician Responsibilities Include:
  • Characterizing EMI problems, developing fixes, providing fleet support, perform EMI preventative maintenance
  • Developing detailed EMC test plans; participating in EMC test planning meetings and test readiness reviews
  • Performing EMC testing onboard Navy ships
  • Gathering, reducing, and analyzing resulting data
  • Preparing and publishing detailed EMC test reports
  • Reviewing technical documentation and technical meeting support.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Six (6) years of experience, which includes the testing, and check out of Joint / Navy systems and components, equipment, or networking hardware; experience in test, evaluation, and integration related to configuration management of Navy shipboard sensors and/or systems.
  • Four (4) years demonstrated experience in one or more of the following specific Navy shipboard areas: Electromagnetic Interference (EMI); Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC); Shipboard EMC; EMI problem investigation, characterization, and quantification; E3 instructions, standards, policies and procedures; EMC acquisition engineering and EMI analysis; EMI planned maintenance systems; EMC certification; technical program support; CASREP EMI investigations; and EMI characterization and quantification; EMI planned maintenance systems; RF System testing and utilization of RF test equipment (Spectrum Analyzers, signal generators, power meters etc.)
  • Experience with systems analysis, technical documentation, maintenance, repair, operation, and support
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a Secret Clearance
  • Vocational/technical training beyond high school
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time


Compensation

The annual starting salary/ hourly rate for this position is between $80,000 to $100,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
