DESCRIPTION
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the leading cloud provider, delivering virtualized infrastructure, storage, networking, messaging, and many other services to customers all over the world to include the U.S. Intelligence Community (IC).
The AWS Security team is responsible managing security clearance activity for AWS employees supporting classified government programs. As a Personnel Security Specialist, you will join a team of industry-leading security experts working with the U.S. Government to operate and continuously improve industry-leading personnel security programs and processes.
AWS Security requires innovative thinking balanced with a strong customer focus on quality and execution. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of leading and supporting security programs, demonstrable program/project management experience, comprehensive knowledge of government clearance reporting requirements, and a deep understanding of government security programs and processes. You must obsess over internal and external customers and successfully deliver support and services in an environment where priorities shift extremely fast. You must be able to operate independently to manage security projects, continuously triage and prioritize accordingly, communicate clearly and compellingly.
This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
Key job responsibilities
Among other duties, the Personnel Security Specialist will:
- Process employee reportable information in accordance with the AWS employee self-reporting program within US ADC Industrial Security, ensuring compliance with US government customers
- Develop mechanisms and processes to improve data flow of reporting activity
- Drive efficiencies for personnel security reporting programs across multiple customers and ensure security documentation, and files are maintained in accordance with US government requirements
- Contribute to the development and evolution of personnel security reporting programs
- Own development and enhancement of personnel security reporting programs, ensuring they are developed and operated in accordance with internal and customer security policies and practices
- Monitor processes and drive improvements in efficiency and quality of our personnel security reporting programs
- Interface regularly with AWS stakeholders and government customers to support clearance and reporting activities

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's Degree in Intelligence, Security Management, Business Administration, or analytical field - or 5 years of Security Specialist security experience.
• 5+ years experience managing collateral, SCI and/or special access security programs.
• 5+ years experience interpreting and enforcing security requirements of the NISPOM, ICD, ICPG, Executive Orders, and other Agency specific regulations as it pertains to personnel security.
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience supporting multiple government agencies.
• Demonstrated track record of growth and increasing responsibility that require maturity, judgment, negotiation, analytics, and influence skills.
• Experience working closely with insider threat groups in support of investigations.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and can learn quickly.
• Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to drive personnel security projects independently.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $91,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $196,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
