We are looking for you to join our team as a Manager of Manufacturing Engineering 1 based at our Sunnyvale, CA facility.
What you'll get to do:
In this role, you will be responsible for daily operations of the Tool Design Engineering team including the assignment of work, schedules, and day to day workflow. In addition, you will oversee the operational and technical aspects of ongoing tooling projects for Naval applications from concept design, to requirements definition, to procurement, and production use. The ideal candidate will have good program management skills, resource management skills, budget management skills, and will develop resolutions to project issues to meet safety, quality, schedule, cost and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.

Salary Range: $107,300.00 - $160,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Additional Responsibilities:
- Exhibit competent knowledge of all design and procurement processes and provide technical oversight of direct reports work.
- Work with internal customers to concept needed support equipment for new and existing programs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver project scope, goals, and deliverables.
- Oversee project timelines, budgets, resources, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Generates/reviews proposals for project labor and material estimates.
- Generates CAD models, drawings, material requisitions, and routings for program requested tools.
- Perform drawing checks and CAD model interrogations to ensure design manufacturability, completeness, and conformity to standards.
- Drive department continuous improvement initiatives and manufacturing processes improvements to meet customer budget and schedule requirements.
- Drive department RCCA activities and implements corrective actions.
- Supports vendors during fabrication and inspection of tools.
- Assess Tool Design Engineering team's skills, conduct gap analysis, and develop training plans that align with business goals.

Basic Qualifications for the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering:
- Bachelor's Degree in STEM, related field, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant project management experience or a Master's Degree with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience with CAD applications: Modeling complex assemblies and tools; 2D drafting and drawing creation from 3D models; modifying existing 2D drawings and 3D CAD models.
- Experience evaluating vendor and equipment capability and ability to perform required tasks.
- Experience with machining, welding and assembly processes for metallic parts.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
- US Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications for the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering:
- Experience with NX modeling and drafting
- Experience with manufacturing systems such as MES, ERP
- Experience with Material Review Board (MRB) including dispositioning of non-conforming material, root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
- Experience in facilities and capital planning, resource and capacity planning and control account management practices
