Duties
As an ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER, GS-0341-12, you will ensure internal systems and procedures for carrying out the organization's administrative functions meet the requirements of balancing costs, benefits, productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness. Initiate plan, direct, and/or participate in special studies and projects in areas such as; resource utilization, personnel management, logistical support, knowledge management, readiness programs, etc. Represent the Wing in meetings with congressional, state and local officials, special interest and business group spokespersons to market and advertise ANG programs, activities, and requirements to gain support for ANG missions. Collaborate and consult with Wing Public Affairs Officer (PAO), draft, develop, and finalize narrative, prepare and coordinate news releases with State JFHQ to support communication with local media, high-ranking public officials, corporate leadership, civic groups, other reserve components, Air Force, Army, National Guard Bureau (NGB) and respective headquarters staff representatives. Perform as the historian, responsible to ensure timely, complete and accurate capture and cataloging of significant historical data, and generation of required reports. Perform other duties as assigned.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE : Experience, education or training in managing or directing, one or more programs, including appropriate supporting service organizations. Supervisory, managerial, professional or technical work experience and/or training which has provided knowledge of management principles, practices, methods and techniques. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : Must have at least 36 months experience, education or training analyzing problems, identifying significant factors, gathering pertinent data and recognizing solutions. Experience preparing reports, plans, policies and various correspondence. Experience evaluating objectives and develop plans to facilitate the availability and effective utilization of various resources. Experience utilizing the organization, its mission and the organizational staff procedures. Experience using quantitative and qualitative techniques for analyzing and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of administrative and technical programs. Experience developing the mission and work processes of programs throughout the military organization and multi level agencies. Experience in analytical and investigative techniques.

- NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position.
- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.

- Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

- Irregular and overtime hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies.
- The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle and if so, an appropriate valid driver's license is required.
- The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
