We are currently seeking a dedicated Senior Cyber Capability Developer to support a premier federal client in Clarksburg, VA. Position Overview
As a Senior Cyber Capability Developer, you will provide advanced cybersecurity assessment, secure software analysis, and development support to the client organization. You will play a key role in identifying vulnerabilities, mitigating threats, and guiding secure development practices to protect national security systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Information System Security Officers in the evaluation of delivered software.
- Conduct static analysis on source code in languages including C, C++, Java, C#, Groovy, Python, Perl, Bash, PowerShell, and others to identify vulnerabilities or malicious logic.
- Perform dynamic and manual binary reverse engineering to detect security risks and malicious content.
- Provide technical guidance on identifying indicators of compromise in both source and compiled code.
- Perform manual and automated code assessments using industry standards such as OWASP Top 10.
- Develop internal tools, frameworks, and scripts to enhance software security analysis.
- Conduct malware analysis and hardware/firmware reviews.
- Provide recommendations on secure coding practices and secure web development.
- Assist stakeholders in assessing technical risks, vulnerabilities, and threats.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, knowledge transfers, risk reports, and secure code assessments.
- Perform ongoing security assessments using tools like Tenable Security Center, BurpSuite, OWASP Zap, Black Duck, Coverity, and others.
- Support functional security testing of client systems including system architecture, components, and interfaces.
- Assist in SAA processes to ensure compliance with client and federal cybersecurity standards (e.g., FISMA).
- Collaborate on penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, and secure software engineering practices.
- Prepare and maintain testing methodologies, test plans, and assessment reports.
- Conduct network and system mapping to analyze information flows and security architecture.
- Provide operational support for the installation and configuration of cybersecurity toolsets.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in any discipline but Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- 6+ years of experience in cybersecurity, software security assessments, and secure code development.
- Experience with static/dynamic code analysis and reverse engineering.
- Familiarity with federal cybersecurity standards, including FISMA and NIST.
- Experience with Security Assessments & Authorizations (SA&A) and continuous security monitoring.
Required Security Clearance
- Active Top Secret security clearance
Preferred Certifications
- CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent)
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) (or equivalent)

- Security & Analysis Tools: Tenable, OWASP Zap, BurpSuite, Black Duck, Coverity, Checkov, Trivy, ClamAV, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint
- Programming/Scripting Languages: Python, C/C++, Java, PowerShell, Bash, Groovy, Ruby
- DevSecOps Tools: Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Confluence
- Container/Cloud Security: Red Hat Advanced Cluster Security for Kubernetes
