Nightwing is seeking an expert level Proposal Editor/Publisher who will be responsible for ensuring written solutions and visual architectures are documented in a manner that is compelling, cohesive, and consistent throughout the proposal. S/He ensures a unified voice is evident throughout all volumes of the proposal. The Proposal Editor ensures correct use of grammar and punctuation; verifies overall consistency, clarity, and readability; applies the appropriate acronym treatment, develops acronym lists, and performs quality control.
S/He is a partner to the writers, Technical Solutioning team, and Visual Solution Architect, often providing input on content phrasing to convey the intended message. As an integral member of the team, s/he works in tandem with the writers and architects to ensure the voice of the document is tailored to the audience. This role provides the capture/proposal team with high-quality editing in accordance with the industry standard practices, the proposal-specific Style Guide, and Wall of Truth. This position works closely with the Proposal Manager/Proposal Coordinator to provide the edit schedule, based on milestone reviews and production schedule.
As a key member of the proposal response team, the Proposal Editor is located on-site in our Dulles, VA facility as he/she will be supporting classified pursuits and may be working in SCIF settings. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines while collaborating with internal teams.

Responsibilities:
- Working with writers and developers to ensure document accuracy.
- Reviewing written technical documents for clarity, grammar, spelling, punctuation, content, and style and making appropriate corrections.
- Making any necessary corrections to technical documents.
- Giving feedback and advice to technical writers.
- Ensuring that all written content meets company standards.
- Developing, communicating, and adhering to goals for content, workflow, and aim of writing.
- Creating templates for technical writers that are easy to apply and adapt.
- Conducting quality assurance on all printed documents, including brochures, advertisements, newsletters, marketing materials, etc.
- Conforming to strict editing guidelines and security clearance protocols.
- Research proposal material and customer to accurately edit and style the documentation.
- Edits and produces camera-ready copy of printed materials for publication.
- Skill in developing design and layout of materials to be published.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a technical writer and in working with a variety of style guides.
- In-depth knowledge of technical concepts.
- Experience with desktop publishing, multimedia production, and online documentation software.
- Excellent computer and word processing skills.
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and page composition skills
- Ability to adhere to deadlines and handle pressure.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Must be able to work proposal schedule (long days/weekends).
- Must have over 10 years experience of Technical Editing and Desktop publishing government proposal responses ranging in size and complexity.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, English, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of proposal editing in Government Contracting.
- Familiarity with federal procurement regulations (e.g., FAR/DFARS) .
- Experience creating Proposal Outlines and Compliance Matrices.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to evaluate and edit the content, structure, and format of a range of written material.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to analyze graphic and technical information and create interpretive illustrations.
Mandatory:
- Must have or be eligible for TS/SCI security clearance.
- Ability to work in SCIF environments.
- May require long days and/or weekends to accommodate proposal schedules.
