Tygart is currently seeking an experienced Data Engineer to provide direct support to a Department of Justice (DoJ) customer. The ideal candidate will support a combination of program management, IT, and intelligence functions for the following units:
National Strategic Partnership and Coordination Unit
Executive Liaison, Strategy, and Communications Unit
Information Sharing and Analysis Unit
Responsibilities:
Maintain and update information within the Private Sector Portal (PSP) tool, utilizing automation where appropriate.
Collaborate with the relationship management team to identify and document technical requirements related to the PSP system.
Develop and implement guidance for the appropriate use of the PSP system and enforce consistent data standards across the enterprise.
Provide technical support and customer service to both headquarters and field users.
Oversee the PSP system's content, auditing for missing or inappropriate metadata, and escalate technical issues as necessary.
Ensure the efficient scheduling, processing, and documentation of data delivery and implementation, leveraging automation when feasible.
Required Qualifications:
Active Top Secret security clearance
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a quantitative or technical field (e.g., Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering)
Minimum 2–4 years of experience in a data engineering or data analytics role
Strong scripting skills in one or more languages: Python, R, Perl, Bash
Advanced proficiency with SQL
Experience with business intelligence/visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Microsoft Power BI
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, Bootstrap/Reactstrap, and JavaScript frameworks such as React
Experience with data warehousing technologies
Familiarity with cloud platforms including AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform (e.g., BigQuery, Redshift)
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Proficiency in technical writing and editing using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
