Senior Principal Systems Integration & Test Engineer - Tucson, A

Senior Principal Systems Integration & Test Engineer needed for a contract opportunity with SOC's client to work onsite in Tucson, AZ.

Contract Length: 12+Months, possible conversion to FTE

*Must have an active Secret clearance to be considered for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a multi-disciplinary team in defining, planning, coordinating, and conducting test and verification events for Fixed Wing UAS.
• You will influence the architecture of the system, establishing processes, and align RMD program leadership, office the of chief engineer, and multiple IPTs.
• You will apply extensive hands-on integration and test experience with Fixed Wing UAS rapid development to creatively develop test strategies and plans tailored to the program that maximize test coverage.
• Stay abreast of development schedules to plan and coordinate technology integrations and test events.
• Conduct test readiness reviews, after action reviews, and participate as needed in customer engagements.
• Ensure test configurations and events are carefully controlled and documented.
• Capture, track, and ensure the resolution of findings from test events.
• Estimate, track, and communicate cost, schedule, and risk in support of test planning and execution.
• You will Interact and coordinate with customer test community stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

• Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in STEM and a minimum of 10 (ten) years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience working in cross-disciplined teams in a technical capacity.
• Minimum of seven (7) years prior experience with rapid design, development, integration, and testing of Fixed Wing UAS.
• Minimum of seven (7) years In-the-Field Flight Testing experience.
• Experience using program management tools such as Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Integrated Master Plan (IMP), Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), and/or Risk and Opportunity Management to identify issues and develop recommended courses of action to management
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• In-depth knowledge of UAS Systems of Systems
• RS-232, UART, USB, TTL and Ethernet Communications
• How to Setup a Networks
• Deep understanding of battery chemistries, charging, battery pack configurations and cell type limitations
• Understanding of how weather and environments effect UAS performance
• Deep Supplier database of commonly utilized components, how to integrate them, and where to acquire them.
• Knowledge in the operation of, setting of and limitations of Internal Combustion Engines (ICE), electric outrunner brushless motors, and Turbine engines.
• Knowledge of the requirements to operate in restricted airspace
• Previously Coordinated operations or testing in restricted airspace

Desired Qualifications:

• Knowledge of current and next generation Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and associated technology.
• Advanced Fixed Wing UAS domain experience (e.g. command and control, autonomous systems, flight management systems, surveillance sensors and algorithms, airframes, structures, machine learning).
• Platform level system trade and integration experience.
• Demonstrated innovation and ability to adapt decision-making style based on the situational circumstances.
• Experience working effectively in highly collaborative environments, a demonstrated ability to take ownership of tasks and lead technical efforts spanning multiple stakeholders and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization as well as customers.
• In depth knowledge of US Army military operations and doctrine, organization, training, materiel, leadership and education, personnel, and facilities (DOTMLPF).
• Advanced degree in Systems Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience piloting Fixed Wing UASs
• Fluent with FAA Part 107 or FAA Part 107 certified
• Experience with obtaining FAA UAS Airworthiness Certification
