Cybersecurity Specialist – IRES
Location: Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO
Clearance Required: Active DoD Secret Clearance
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $90,000 – $120,000 DOE

Overview:
OSAAVA Services is seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist to support the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at Schriever Space Force Base. This role is a full-time, on-site position supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), with occasional travel (up to 10%) to support Exercises and War-game systems.
You will contribute to mission-critical cybersecurity tasks involving risk assessments, compliance audits, vulnerability management, system hardening, and RMF documentation. The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented, technically strong, and capable of working within structured DoD cybersecurity frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct manual and automated system scans and inspections to ensure compliance with MDA and RMF security requirements.
• Support IAVM (Information Assurance Vulnerability Management) reporting and ensure security patches are applied appropriately.
• Engineer secure systems in accordance with RMF requirements and cybersecurity best practices.
• Maintain and update System Security Plans (SSPs), POA&Ms, and documentation in eMASS.
• Review RMF control compliance status and track corrective actions through resolution.
• Leverage cybersecurity tools such as ACAS, HBSS/ESS, and Trellix/McAfee ENS.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide security configuration and hardening guidance.
• Document work thoroughly and follow MDA and DoD enterprise cybersecurity procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Active DoD Secret clearance at the time of application
• 4+ years of general professional experience (can be reduced with advanced degree)
• 2+ years of directly related cybersecurity experience
• Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE)
• Experience with:
o Trellix/McAfee (HBSS, ESS, ENS)
o eMASS and POA&M management
o ACAS vulnerability scanning and reporting
• Willing and able to travel up to 10% CONUS/OCONUS
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of BMDS, War-games, and Exercises
• Familiarity with:
o NIST 800-53 RMF documentation and processes
o DISA STIGs, SCCM, WSUS, Windows 10 patching
o Centralized logging systems (e.g., ELASTIC, ArcSight)
o Linux systems administration
o Multi-Factor Authentication (RSA, PKI), Common Criteria, FIPS 140-2
o Vulnerability and patch management best practices
