Application Architect

Koniag IT Systems, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an Application Architect with a Top Secret/SCI with Q security clearance to support KITS and our government customer in College Park, MD. This position is for a Future New Business Opportunity.

The ideal candidate is a knowledgeable and skilled professional with extensive experience in Application Architect, possessing the ability to apply their expertise to solve complex issues and drive successful project outcomes. This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. This role is based on-site with the possibility of teleworking depending on project requirements.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• The Application Architect SME will provide subject matter expertise, guidance, and support to projects and teams working with the Application Architect software suite. The primary responsibilities include:
• Serve as the lead Application Architect expert, providing in-depth knowledge and guidance on the software's capabilities, configurations, and best practices.
• Collaborate with project teams, developers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and design appropriate Application solutions.
• Develop and implement Application Architect customizations, integrations, and enhancements to meet specific project needs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex architecture issues, providing technical support and recommendations for resolution.
• Conduct training and knowledge transfer sessions for project teams and end-users on application functionality and processes.
• Participate in the design, testing, and implementation phases of Application projects, ensuring adherence to best practices and quality standards.
• Contribute to the development of technical documentation, user guides, and standard operating procedures related to Application Architecture.
• Stay up to date with the latest technologies and application releases, updates, and industry best practices.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field with 8 years of professional experience.
• Proven expertise in application data modeling, report development, and workflow automation.
• Experience working in a government or highly regulated industry environment is preferred.

Required Skills and Competencies:

• Deep understanding of Application Architecture methodologies, including data modeling, reporting, workflows, and integrations.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex application architecture issues.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including developers, analysts, and stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
• Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, or similar) is a plus.
• Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance (TS/SCI).

Desired Skills and Competencies:

• Knowledge or Experience with HighView content management solution.
• Certification in an Applications Architecture platform such as AWS, Azure, etc.
• Experience with agile software development methodologies.
• Knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence concepts.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and technologies.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
