About the Role:
We are hiring a DevSecOps Engineer with an active Top Secret clearance to enhance automation, security, and infrastructure capabilities in a dynamic technical environment. This position is ideal for an expert in DevSecOps, cloud automation, and secure infrastructure who will play a critical role in integrating SAFE-SiM and other Modeling & Simulation (M&S) frameworks into a multi-domain, multi-classification environment. You'll be based in Reston, VA in a hybrid work arrangement and work on projects vital to national security and DoD missions.

You'll be based in Reston, VA in a hybrid work arrangement and work on projects vital to national security and DoD missions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable infrastructure for DoD Modeling & Simulation (M&S) systems
- Develop and manage continuous deployment pipelines for mission-critical M&S tools using CI/CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Terraform, Ansible, Puppet)
- Implement auto-scaling, monitoring, and security automation to ensure high availability and robust performance
- Integrate SAFE-SiM and other M&S tools into the Modeling & Simulation Infrastructure Environment (MSIE)
- Apply DevSecOps best practices, embedding security throughout the software development lifecycle
- Ensure full compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards (NIST, RMF, DISA STIGs) and implement zero-trust security models
- Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, and technical demonstrations as part of agile development processes
- Provide technical progress reports, program management plans, and agile artifacts to stakeholders
- Attend quarterly Technical Exchange Meetings in State College, PA, representing N3bula Systems
- Address key challenges in interoperability, security compliance, and scalability across multi-domain environments
- Develop and document risk mitigation strategies for complex M&S solutions
Required Qualifications:
- Education & Experience (One of the following): Master's Degree + 3 years of relevant experience, Bachelor's Degree + 5 years of relevant experience, 10+ years of experience in DevSecOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or related fields
- Extensive experience in DevSecOps pipelines, automation, and security compliance in DoD environments
- Strong expertise in cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, hybrid-cloud) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker)
- Proficiency in CI/CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Terraform, Ansible, Puppet)
- Deep understanding of zero-trust security models, access control, and automation
- Strong background in multi-domain M&S environments supporting DoD projects
- Expertise in secure classified environments and cross-domain solutions
Preferred Skills:
- Hands-on experience with SAFE-SiM and DoD M&S frameworks
- Experience integrating multi-classification environments for M&S
- Familiarity with high-performance computing (HPC) and distributed simulation architectures
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills for compliance reporting
- Experience with agile methodologies and stakeholder collaboration
Clearance Requirements:
- Active Top Secret with ability to obtain and maintain SCI
Work Type:
- Hybrid (60/40) in Reston, VA
- May require quarterly travel to State College, PA for Technical Exchange Meetings
Salary Range:
- $150,000 - $185,000
