DOCUMENTATION SPECIALIST/TECHNICAL WRITER (CESAM):
Bowhead seeks a Documentation Specialist/Technical Writer to join our team in Mobile, AL. The Documentation Specialist/Technical Writer is responsible for researching, writing, and editing complex Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technical documentation including, but not limited to, scopes of work, customer requirements documents, security-related documents, computing architecture diagrams, GIS product user's guides, dredging specifications, standard operating procedures, and project management plans. Other responsibilities include developing computing architecture diagrams, flow charts, and organizational charts; editing and customizing screenshots and other graphics for use in technical documents; recording and distributing meeting minutes; and researching, writing, and editing miscellaneous documentation, including PowerPoint presentations and conference proposals.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the CESAM-OP-J technical documentation archive in SharePoint; serves as a GitLab administrator, helping to maintain GitLab users, groups, projects, and tasks; and serves as a Scrum Master for CESAM-OP-J projects, as required.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, GitLab, and the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, Word) as well as familiarity with Adobe Illustrator, the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support System (eMASS), the Esri ArcGIS suite of products, SharePoint, and SpecsIntact.
- Demonstrate independent decision-making and sound judgment are required to determine writing and presentation style.

Physical Demands:
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Public Trust level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.

Qualifications
- A BA/S and an additional one to three (1-3) years' experience in a technical writing position are required.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills and interpersonal skills are imperative.
- Multitasking, good judgment, and the ability to work both alone and as part of a team are required.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies, Camtasia, eMASS, the Esri ArcGIS suite of products, GitLab, SharePoint, and/or SpecsIntact is a plus.
- Candidates with minimal programming background are highly encouraged to apply.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
- Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
