Defense Mission Professional and Publications Content Developer
The Opportunity:
Are you ready to create an engaging immersive experience for the soldiers of the future? As a publications content developer, you know how to bridge the gap between art and engineering by creating meaningful narratives that engage users' imaginations.
Using interactive design techniques, you can create solutions for the applications and demonstrations that play an important role in how our clients meet their missions. We're looking for someone like you to help us design safe and accurate technical manuals for our customers in the U.S. Army.
As an Army publications content developer, you'll bring your analytical, technical writing and maintenance expertise to work on projects for the latest program executive office (PEO) ground combat systems (GCS) missions. You'll lead teams to revolutionize the Army technical manual process, acting as a subject matter expert and leading teams to ensure the latest digital engineering processes are integrated into a new technical publications process defined by the use of 3D models, digital infrastructure, and data science.
You'll be a trusted advisor to our clients, and we'll look to you to identify, analyze, and evaluate complex systems, policies, and processes to integrate the latest videography, interactive 3D models, and data science processes into the Army's method. As part of our innovation laboratory, you may also help your team explore new augmented reality, virtual reality, mixed reality technology, and their capabilities.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,900.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. You Have:
- 5+ years experience in technical content development to include user or maintenance manuals or technical trainings
- Experience with XML authoring software, military standards, and army regulations for technical publication development
- Experience with Army technical manual publication, development, verification or validation
- Ability to learn new computer or media systems, responding quickly to constantly changing technology and a desire to
- Ability to improve the technical manual publication process, reducing the effort from months and years to days and weeks
- Ability to conduct research using engineering drawings, technical publications, formal instructions, and prior studies or research efforts
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree
Nice If You Have:
- Experience with video production, photography, 3D models animation, and technical content authoring
- Experience designing a story or script, filming, editing, and publishing multi-media content
- Experience with multimedia applications including Adobe Creative Cloud Suite
- Experience utilizing basic data science processes or working with an integrated data science team to drive decision making
