Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Electromagnetic Test & Evaluation Engineer to support a DoD Test and Evaluation (T&E) team at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. This role involves hands-on work in a dynamic lab environment, supporting radar cross-section (RCS) testing, antenna characterization, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and other advanced RF and sensor technologies. You’ll work with interdisciplinary teams and cutting-edge systems like the Dynamic Advanced Radar Test (DART) facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and validate requirements for electromagnetic test systems and components
- Design hardware/software architectures for system integration
- Conduct trade studies, modeling, and simulation to optimize system performance
- Define and execute tests to validate customer design requirements
- Operate test procedures independently and coordinate with internal/external stakeholders
- Provide lifecycle support including root-cause analysis and anomaly resolution
- Solve technical challenges and improve existing processes
- Travel domestically as needed to support test programs and conferences
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related technical field
- Minimum 1+ years of hands-on experience in lab environments with electromagnetics
- Minimum 1+ years of experience with RF systems or coursework in RF theory
- Willingness to travel domestically as needed
- Strong collaboration and organizational skills in fast-paced environments
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of related work experience
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Physics
- Experience with radar/RF components and systems
- Proficiency with RF test equipment (e.g., Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, VNAs)
- Familiarity with Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and FPGA logic design
- Experience with Linux operating systems and embedded programming
- Proficiency in LabVIEW, MATLAB, C++, and Python
Compensation:
- Starting pay range: $100,000 - $120,000
