The policy to have a compatible MOS/AFSC has been suspended. When reinstated, you will have one year to meet the qualifications of this position or meet the requirements in the guidance set by NGB. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Knowledge of basic laws and regulations, law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques and involved responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property. Creditable specialized experience may have been gained in work on a police force; through service as a military police officer; in work providing visitor protection and law enforcement in parks, forests, or other natural resource or recreational environments; in performing criminal investigative duties; or in other work that provided the required knowledge and skills. 1 year equivalent to at least next lower grade level which includes experience in administrative, clerical, technical, or military work that involved protecting property, equipment, data, or materials; or that involved making judgments based on the application of directions, rules, regulations, or laws.

This position does not meet the definition of law enforcement officer (LEO) and is excluded from coverage as LEO for purposes of the Federal Employment Retirement System-Base Annuity 1A W 5 CFR, Part 842, Subpart H.
The incumbent of this position is required to meet certain physical requirements and is required to provide a copy of their current AF Form 422 or AF Form 469 annually.
The maximum entry age for DoD Law Enforcement is 37. An individual not appointed by the last day of the month in which the individual becomes age 37 will not be originally appointed or assigned to these positions.
Must meet medical requirements for AFSC 3P Career Field.
Must possess a valid state driver's license to operate government motor vehicles (GMV) in accordance with AFI 24-301, Vehicle Operations.

- Incumbent may full powers of apprehension and detention, which entails carrying a firearm, mirandizing suspects, preserving evidence, and testifying in court as it pertains to enforcing regulations within assigned jurisdiction.
- Conducts investigations of crimes and complaints covering a wide range of subjects and allegations that are not within the scope of Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI)
- Serves as the primary command and control (C2) function for all Integrated Defense forces.
- Conducts Investigations/Surveillance.
- Performs as Base Defense Operations Center (BDOC) Controller.
- Performs emergency response and incident command and control.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- The incumbent must wear a DAF Police Officer uniform as identified in the DAF Police AFI and required to meet dress and appearance standards when supporting non-DoD agencies IAW the AFI.
- Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
- Incumbent must possess a valid driver's license and be able to operate all security forces vehicles and installed equipment.
- Subject to duty position evaluation on a pass/fail standard in accordance with AFI 36-2646, Security Forces Training and Standardization Evaluation Programs.
- Incumbent will be exposed to the day-to-day dangers associated with law enforcement and security duties.
- This is a Mission Essential (ME) position performing a Mission Critical Function (MCF) which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions.
