Position Overview
The Security Operations Coordinator plays a key role in safeguarding RQ personnel, facilities, and assets. This position requires daily administration of security systems, response to incidents, and enforcement of security protocols. Education
The Security Operations Coordinator plays a key role in safeguarding RQ personnel, facilities, and assets. This position requires daily administration of security systems, response to incidents, and enforcement of security protocols. A proactive and detail-oriented approach is essential to identify and mitigate potential risks while ensuring compliance with all security regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor surveillance systems and respond to or investigate security incidents.
- Destroy classified materials, process magnetic media, and maintain administrative document control logs.
- Handle inbound and outbound visit notices; escort facility visitors and manage associated logs.
- Conduct entry/exit inspections; issue visitor badges; manage door access privileges.
- Enforce Standard Operating Procedures and support security awareness/education programs.
- Provide administrative support for RQ Security Representatives and assist in document preparation and editing.
- Track and monitor personnel security clearance processing and related documentation.
- Handle classified mail, courier packages, faxes, and Program Access Requests (PARs).
- Support conference room operations and VTC management, including troubleshooting and scheduling.
- Provide training to staff on security procedures and create detailed incident and activity reports.
- Authorized to respond to after-hours security alarms for AFRL/RQ facilities (Building 45) per SOP.
Required Qualifications
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience applying knowledge of software used in conjunction with required tasks, to include Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams) and CCURE or Similar Access Control Software; .
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including public speaking.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a dynamic environment.
- Minimum of 6 years experience in a military security environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
