Contracts Specialist

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Contracts Specialist to join a National Security Contract located in Arlington, VA through hybrid presence . The Cyber Security Analyst will support negotiating, administering, and analyzing DOD contracts under FAR/DFARs regulations with a strong emphasis on procurement policy, pricing analysis, and compliance documentation.

Responsibilities of the Contracts Specialist include:

• Draft and administer terms and conditions for Department of Defense R&D contracts under FAR Part 35.
• Negotiate contract terms, modifications, and pricing with internal and external stakeholders.
• Conduct cost and price analysis on proposals and contract modifications.
• Interpret and apply procurement policies, including FAR, DFARS, and agency-specific regulations.
• Prepare comprehensive contract documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
• Support the contract lifecycle, including file management, review, and reporting.
• Work on-site weekly at a DoD research agency in a hybrid capacity.

Qualifications of the Contracts Specialist include:

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in business, finance, or a related field.
• Active DoD Secret clearance is mandatory.
• 8-12 years of experience in government procurement and contract administration.
• Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and government contracting policies (DoD R&D contracts preferred).
• Experience negotiating terms and conditions, preparing cost proposals, and drafting contract modifications.
• Skilled in cost/price analysis and maintaining compliant contract documentation.
• Bonus: Familiarity with non-FAR instruments (e.g., OTAs, grants, cooperative agreements) and PD2 contractual software.

Compensation for the Contracts Specialist includes:

• Salary Range: $140,000-$175,000 **depending on experience**
