As part of the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract, we are seeking a highly motivated Digital Engineering Lead to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) in advancing digital transformation initiatives.
About the Role
The Digital Engineering Lead plays a key role in enabling Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) capabilities within a complex and fast-paced defense environment. The ideal candidate will lead a diverse engineering team while championing the adoption and execution of digital engineering practices across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers and analysts to implement and mature MBSE practices
• Promote and drive the adoption of MBSE tools, techniques, and frameworks across the organization
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate digital engineering approaches into legacy and modern workflows
• Guide the transformation from document-centric to model-centric engineering environments
• Communicate complex engineering concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Deliver status updates and briefings to internal leadership and external government stakeholders
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Basic Qualifications
• 4+ years of systems engineering experience
• Proven leadership in technical projects or personnel management
• Strong knowledge of systems engineering frameworks (e.g., DoDAF, UAF, TOGAF)
• Experience with modeling languages (e.g., SysML, UML)
• Proficiency with MBSE tools such as DOORS, Cameo, Rhapsody, or equivalent
• Active DoD Secret clearance required
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or a related STEM field
• Experience leading digital engineering initiatives within the DoD or federal space
• Excellent communication, strategic planning, and analytical skills
