Overview
VTG is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Systems Engineer in Chantilly VA to support a dynamic Sponsor organization focused on transitioning research concepts into mission-ready capabilities. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical background who can bridge the gap between R&D and operational deployment in support of national security missions.

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelors plus at least six (6) years of experience OR 10 years of experience relevant to a technical function being supported
• Demonstrated successful experience developing well documented, actionable, measurable, testable, traceable requirements supporting Sponsor development activities
• Demonstrated successful experience applying critical thinking to analyzing Sponsor project and programs to identify technical risks that may impact successful delivery of the Sponsor developed capability
• Demonstrated successful experience developing Concepts of Operations diagrams using industry best practices by meeting with project stakeholders
• Demonstrated successful experience forecasting technologies and products that advance the sponsor mission area
• Demonstrated experience providing independent assessment of products regarding technical risk and suggest potential improvement on technical functionality
• Demonstrated successful experience analyzing vendor design documentation to meet Sponsor requirements
• Demonstrated successful experience developing comprehensive project plans that transition Sponsor research concepts into mission ready capabilities
• Demonstrated successful experience working with Sponsor Test Teams to create adhoc test cases to fully characterize Sponsor developed capabilities
• Demonstrated successful experience working with Sponsor to identify new opportunities to enable technical operations to include access, exfil, collection and special projects

Key Responsibilities
- Develop well-documented, actionable, measurable, testable, and traceable requirements to support Sponsor development activities.
- Apply critical thinking to analyze Sponsor projects and programs, identifying technical risks that may impact successful delivery.
- Create Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) diagrams using industry best practices by engaging with project stakeholders.
- Forecast emerging technologies and products that can advance the Sponsor's mission.
- Provide independent technical assessments of products, identifying risks and recommending improvements.
- Analyze vendor design documentation to ensure alignment with Sponsor requirements.
- Develop comprehensive project plans to transition research concepts into operational capabilities.
- Collaborate with Sponsor Test Teams to design and execute ad hoc test cases.
- Identify and support new technical operations opportunities , including access, exfiltration, collection, and special projects.
