The Integration Architect / Technical Lead will lead the design, development, and deployment of UCAP's API-based integration layer. This role is responsible for building microservices that connect Agentic AI, Pega workflow automation, and external VA systems, leveraging AWS-native services including Lambda, Fargate, ECS, and EC2. The Integration Architect will guide a team of developers, define best practices for API design, ensure security compliance, and deliver scalable, reliable services that underpin UCAP's mission-critical workflows.

The Integration Architect / Technical Lead will lead the design, development, and deployment of UCAP's API-based integration layer. The Integration Architect will guide a team of developers, define best practices for API design, ensure security compliance, and deliver scalable, reliable services that underpin UCAP's mission-critical workflows.

Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the technical lead for the Integration scrum team, overseeing architecture and delivery of microservices and APIs in AWS.
- Design and document integration patterns, data models, and security controls for all services.
- Guide implementation of containerized workloads using AWS Lambda, Fargate, ECS, and EC2.
- Establish CI/CD pipelines, monitoring frameworks, and operational dashboards for integration services.
- Collaborate with the Program Technical Lead and other workstream leads to ensure end-to-end solution cohesion.
- Conduct design and code reviews to maintain high standards of quality and security.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues within the integration layer.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering and integration architecture, with at least 3 years leading development teams
- Strong experience designing and deploying RESTful APIs and microservices in AWS environments
- Proficiency with AWS Lambda, Fargate, ECS/EKS, and container orchestration patterns
- 4+ years of development experience including hands-on coding in in Python and familiarity with Java or Node.js for API development
- Experience implementing security, logging, monitoring, and performance optimization for production systems
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and DevSecOps best practices
- Must be able to obtain a Position of Trust and pass a comprehensive government background investigation
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS Certification (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect)
- Experience supporting VA or federal healthcare IT programs
- Familiarity with Pega workflow integration and AI/ML service endpoints
