Position Overview
Ryan Consulting Group, Inc. is seeking a Telecommunications Switch Technician to support telecommunications infrastructure and systems. This role is responsible for maintaining and configuring voice networks, supporting endpoint devices, and ensuring documentation and compliance with technical standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong working knowledge of Cisco Call Manager or similar voice telecommunications systems.

Position Overview
Ryan Consulting Group, Inc. is seeking a Telecommunications Switch Technician to support telecommunications infrastructure and systems. This role is responsible for maintaining and configuring voice networks, supporting endpoint devices, and ensuring documentation and compliance with technical standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong working knowledge of Cisco Call Manager or similar voice telecommunications systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage voice network configurations and provide monitoring and analysis for long- and short-term planning.
- Perform moves, adds, and changes (MACs) to telecommunications systems, including basic station configuration and cable management.
- Conduct frame jumper connections, site surveys, and updates to cable records.
- Execute basic switch maintenance tasks including alarm checks, equipment replacement, and endpoint troubleshooting.
- Maintain Tier 1 break/fix support and limited advanced replacement stock.
- Manage building infrastructure cabling based on personnel density.
- Deploy and support Voice over IP (VoIP) endpoints.
- Remediate application vulnerabilities and recommend upgrade paths.
- Develop or update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), support documentation, and policies based on process reviews.
- Coordinate and perform telecommunications MAC activities.
- Administer ITSM/ServiceNow ticket queues for network-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with 9-1-1 and E9-1-1 regulations and private switch agreements.
- Understand and support multi-line telephone systems (MLTS) and crash phone system regulations.
- Maintain working knowledge of telecom technologies such as PRI, BRI, ISDN, SIP, and VoIP.
- Support Avaya systems (experience with Avaya Site Administration a plus), with Cisco Call Manager preferred.
- Apply configuration management principles and structured cabling standards.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Cisco Call Manager and/or Avaya voice systems (Cisco preferred).
- Proven ability to implement and maintain voice communication hardware, software, and procedures for both local and remote environments.
- Experience in endpoint troubleshooting and telecommunication system support.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Preferred: Industry-recognized certifications in Cisco, Avaya, or related telecommunications systems (e.g., CCNA Collaboration, Avaya Certified Implementation Specialist)
