Cybersecurity Engineer

Science Systems and Applications, Inc (SSAI) is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer, who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure network solutions that protect against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction of data. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in security architecture, risk management, incident response, and compliance frameworks.

Responsibilities include:

• Design and implement secure network solutions to defend against cyber threats.
• Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing.
• Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards.
• Monitor systems and networks for security breaches and respond to incidents.
• Evaluate and recommend new security tools and technologies.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry security standards (e.g., NIST, ISO, FISMA).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security into all phases of development and operations.
• Support audits and investigations by providing necessary technical input and documentation.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 15+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity or information assurance.
• Strong knowledge of security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, DLP, and endpoint protection.
• Experience with cloud security (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and secure DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Understanding of risk assessment and threat modeling methodologies.
• Top Secret Clearance
• Active CISSP certification

Desired Qualifications:

• Additional certifications (e.g., CEH, CISM, OSCP, AWS Security).
• Experience working in a government, DoD, or highly regulated environment.
