Quality Engineer – Marine Systems

Leidos is seeking a Quality Engineer to support our Marine Systems Program, dedicated to the repair, modernization, and maintenance of Littoral Combat Ships and other cutting-edge naval vessels. If you're passionate about mission-driven work and thrive in fast-paced environments where quality is non-negotiable, this role is for you.
🧭 What You’ll Be Doing
As a key player in our Quality Team, you’ll help shape the integrity of the Marine Systems Program through hands-on quality assurance leadership. Your mission:
- Partner with the Program Manager to craft effective strategies for QC planning, inspection, and QA surveillance
- Champion quality reviews and lead audits that safeguard standards across all work products
- Implement and uphold our Quality Manual and supporting documentation
- Report on program quality achievements, spotlighting progress and areas for improvement during Quality Management Reviews
- Ensure timely, accurate deliverables by reviewing program plans and documentation
- Conduct internal audits in line with Leidos policy, tracking findings and corrective actions
- Tackle quality issues head-on — perform root cause analysis, propose solutions, and drive closure
- Serve as the go-to contact for customer audits and quality-related inquiries
- Support external audits tied to ISO 9001 certification and customer requirements
🎓 Basic Qualifications (requirements)
- Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience in quality assurance for manufacturing, fabrication, or assembly
- Proven track record implementing ISO 9001 / AS9100 standards
- Experience with internal audits and prepping for third-party certification
- Tech-savvy: proficient in SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
- Strong communicator, comfortable juggling priorities in a fast-moving environment
- U.S. citizenship required to start, with ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance upon hire
